Clark announces bout vs. VanZant at UFC St. Louis
It appears Jessica-Rose Clark will welcome Paige VanZant to the flyweight division.
The Aussie announced Thursday on Instagram that she'll face VanZant at UFC Fight Night 124 on Jan. 14 at Scottrade Center in St. Louis.
After injuries scrapped an October fight with Jessica Eye that would have marked her divisional debut, VanZant tweeted that she'd be fighting for the flyweight title in her next bout - a statement UFC president Dana White soon shot down. The converted strawweight will instead look to snap Clark's two-fight win streak.
The 29-year-old Clark meets VanZant less than two months after edging Bec Rawlings by split decision at UFC Fight Night 121 in Sydney, while VanZant returns to action 13 months after suffering a first-round submission loss to Michelle Waterson at UFC on FOX 22.
The promotion's first trip to the Lou is as of yet without a main event.
