Woodley challenges GSP directly: 'Let's get it in'

Tyron Woodley's designs on facing Georges St-Pierre are no secret.

So when he and the newly crowned UFC middleweight champ appeared together on TMZ's "The Hollywood Beatdown" on Friday, Woodley seized the opportunity to address that fight with the man himself. The reigning welterweight champ has repeatedly deemed a potential bout with GSP one which could solidify him as the greatest 170-pound fighter of all time, although he told St-Pierre he is willing to accommodate him and move up to middleweight if need be.

"You got the warm-up fight, you beat up Bisping, I think it's time to solidify. You're the greatest welterweight of all time, that's my goal - to be the greatest welterweight of all time - let's get it in," Woodley said. "Forget the contract, you were the welterweight king at one point. Anything that's gonna sell, the UFC's gonna do. I'll come up to middleweight, we can do the fight there.

"Robert Whittaker or Tyron Woodley, just think about it. Legacy-wise, for me, there's not a fight that I want more."

St-Pierre previously revealed he's contractually obligated to unify the middleweight crown against Whittaker - the interim champ, but has remained non-committal on his next move since choking Michael Bisping out to win the strap in his return from a four-year layoff at UFC 217 last Saturday.

When asked for a response to the latest of Woodley's many callouts on Friday, he obliged vaguely, but in his typically cheeky manner.

"Stick around," St-Pierre said with a smile.

The next challenger to Woodley's welterweight throne is expected to be determined next month at UFC on FOX 26, when Robbie Lawler - whom Woodley KO'd for the crown - meets Rafael dos Anjos in the main event.
