It turns out a Boston crab can actually induce pain.
The submission - better known as WWE superstar Chris Jericho's patented "Walls of Jericho" finisher - transcended kayfabe this past weekend in Bolton, England at Full Contact Contender 19, where Jonno Mears capitalized on an awkward scramble that ended with him sitting on Aaron Jones' back.
With his foe's legs ripe for the snatching, Mears locked in the hold for the tapout, before flashing two thumbs up in apparent acknowledgement of its absurdity.
The submission rightfully set the Twitterverse ablaze, and soon reached the eyes of its longtime champion:
Hahah see the #WallsOfJericho really works! https://t.co/qJpJLn0lMz
