Mixed martial arts is a special sport.
At UFC Fight Night 117 on Friday, official John Sharp made a one-of-a-kind ruling after Rolando Dy was caught hitting Teruto Ishihara with multiple shots below the belt in the third round.
"One point. Balls," Sharp said.
Fortunately for Ishihara, he did enough through the rest of the fight to earn a unanimous decision and improve to 10-4-2. The fight had to be stopped twice in the third round for low blows, and it appeared Ishihara was hit with an illegal shot to the groin earlier that Sharp didn't see.
