Vick gets Duffy at UFC 217

A pair of rising lightweights are set to clash on the biggest stage of them all.

James "The Texecutioner" Vick and "Irish" Joe Duffy will meet at UFC 217 on Nov. 4 at Madison Square Garden, the promotion announced Monday.

The 30-year-old Vick heads to the Big Apple with back-to-back stoppage victories over Abel Trujillo and Marco Polo Reyes at UFC Fight Night 104 and 211, respectively. The lanky Texan has gotten his hand raised in all but one of his eight trips to the Octagon.

Duffy will also vie for his third straight victory, this after re-upping with the UFC on a seven-fight deal earlier this summer. The 29-year-old boasts a promotional slate of 4-1 and was last seen tuning up Reza Madadi en route to a lopsided decision at UFC Fight Night 107 in March.

The star-studded bill features a trio of title fights, with middleweight champ Michael Bisping facing Georges St-Pierre in the main event, Cody Garbrandt defending his bantamweight strap against TJ Dillashaw in the co-headliner, and strawweight queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk meeting Rose Namajunas.
