UFC president Dana White confirmed the interim lightweight title fight between Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee will take place Oct. 7 at UFC 216 in Las Vegas.
White initially named the two participants of the bout Tuesday, but left the date up in the air.
Ferguson (22-3) and Lee (16-2) both enter on extended winning streaks, with Ferguson at nine in a row and Lee having won each of his last five fights. Ferguson is listed as the UFC's No. 2 lightweight contender, while Lee sits seventh.
