Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor will fight their boxing match with 8-ounce gloves, the UFC confirmed Wednesday.
They received a one-fight exception to switch from the conventional 10-ounce gloves.
Nevada Athletic Commission commissioner Skip Avansino proposed the exception due to the fight's unusual circumstances.
McGregor also received approval for his boxing license Wednesday, and the UFC has been officially named as a co-promoter for the fight. The referee will be Robert Byrd, and the judges will be Burt Clements, Dave Moretti, and Guido Cavalleri.
