Bisping offers profane response to Romero's rant

As far as Michael Bisping is concerned, Yoel Romero needs to learn how to take an L.

After both fighters desecrated each other's flags and Romero demanded Bisping respect his native Cuba in a terrifying promo following his interim middleweight title loss to Robert Whittaker, "The Count" had a gas at Romero's outrage Tuesday on his "Believe You Me" podcast.

The undisputed middleweight king - who started it all by ripping up a Cuban flag cageside at UFC 213, wasn't particularly surprised by his rival's reaction to the antic.

"Yoel is out of his god damn mind," Bisping said, per Jim Edwards of MMAUNO.com. "I gotta say I love it, because some of those videos, it’s awesome. I got out of bed this morning, I had a coffee and people were tagging me on Instagram. Then I take a look at it, he’s on the flag, he’s burning it and like you say he’s dancing on it and doing all this s--t. Yoel, get over it bud, you just lost the No. 1 contender fight. It’s as simple as that and you know what? It’s just so typical of Yoel Romero. He can’t man up, He can’t accept it, he’s gotta cheat, he’s got no honor, he’s got to take steroids."

Romero has since demanded a grudge match with the Brit despite having lost a shot at him to Whittaker in a unanimous decision, a ploy that didn't sit well with the brash Bisping.

"He lost, he lost fair and square. He laid on the floor, he gave up like the little bitch that he is, because he didn't have the heart and he let the fight slip away, and he lost that fight.

"But he can’t still accept it. Now he’s still trying to bypass the victory and call me out still."

Bisping didn't get his shot at UFC gold until he'd logged a decade in the Octagon, so his crass suggestion that Romero regroup and get back in the win column before resuming his gamesmanship and callouts was of little - if any - surprise.

"I lost No. 1 contender matchups (and) If I’d have won them I would’ve fought for the title. But what did I do? Did I go to Instagram and call out the champion? No I did what you have to do - accept it like man. Whatever it is in life, if something doesn’t go your way, you weren’t successful, you didn’t pull it off, and you didn’t achieve it, you say, 'F--k it,' back to the drawing board. You don’t go to Instagram and campaign for the fight any way.

"You just lost, hang your head in shame, go back to Cuba, spend some time with your f--king family and then come back and build yourself up. That’s what you should be doing. Not dancing around on the Union Jack, get a f--king grip."
