Conor McGregor made a statement on his media tour with Floyd Mayweather in more ways than one.

Mere days after he and Mayweather traded barbs at four consecutive press conferences in three countries, "The Notorious" dropped to less than a 4-to-1 underdog for their upcoming blockbuster boxing match in the Bovada sports book, according to a release obtained by MMA Fighting.

McGregor - widely anointed the winner of the four-day battle of wits - was initially listed as a more than 10-to-1 underdog, and has commanded the lion's share of bets placed on the matchup thus far. However, the majority of the total cabbage has been wagered on Mayweather.

In one of a litany of the fight's prop betting lines, Bovada set the over-under for the buy rate at a whopping 4.99 million pay-per-views, a figure exceeding the record of 4.6 million set by Mayweather's 2015 superfight with Manny Pacquiao.

As for whether the Irishman's MMA conditioning will rear its ugly head and prompt him to throw a kick in the ring, Bovada has "yes" at +1100, "no" at -6500.

McGregor makes his pro boxing debut against the undefeated Mayweather on Aug. 26 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
