De Randamie returns to 135 lbs, will fight Reneau at UFC Rotterdam

"The Iron Lady" is moving past the drama and getting back into the Octagon.

Former women's featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie will drop back down to 135 pounds to face Marion Reneau at UFC Fight Night 115 in Rotterdam, Netherlands on Sept. 2.

De Randamie's title run at 145 pounds began and ended in unceremonious fashion, with the UFC throwing together a February pay-per-view bout between her and Holly Holm to crown an inaugural women's featherweight queen. The matchup was marred by the fact that it didn't involve top star Cris Cyborg, who was on provisional suspension after being flagged by USADA.

Though De Randamie would defeat Holm by five-round unanimous decision, controversy arose over a pair of blows landed by De Randamie after the bell of Rounds 2 and 3. An appeal by Holm's team was denied by the New York State Athletic Commission.

De Randamie then came under criticism for not wanting to defend the title against Cyborg, according to her manager, and the UFC eventually decided to strip her of the title.

At 135 pounds, De Randamie holds a 3-1 record inside the Octagon. In her most recent bantamweight outing, the Dutch kickboxing expert defeated Anna Elmose by first-round TKO.

Reneau is coming off of a majority draw against one-time title contender Bethe Correia. "The Belizean Bruiser" owns a 7-3-1 pro record.

UFC Fight Night 115 takes place at the Ahoy Rotterdam and is expected to be headlined by a heavyweight bout between Stefan Struve and Alexander Volkov.
