Mike Goldberg drops signature line in response to trademark question
Old habits die hard.
Play-by-play man Mike Goldberg was part of the UFC for almost two decades before being released at the end of 2016, but he's gearing up to put on the headset again for Bellator, starting with a major event in New York this Saturday.
A fan asked via Twitter if Goldberg is still allowed to use some of his famous phrases now that he's no longer seated by the Octagon. The veteran broadcaster responded in clever fashion:
Hey @GoldieOnTV can you still say "just like that" and "its all over"? I know you cant say "inside the octagon" need to settle a debate lol

Well, it's the Bellator Cage now, everything else is virtually identical... https://t.co/zjORvJPMHR

"Virtually identical" was the phrase Goldberg would frequently utter when comparing two fighters who for the most part had similar measurements.
If this tweet is any indication, it looks like Goldberg has been cleared to bring his signature style to Bellator.
