Bisping: Dana White said GSP doesn't want to fight me

The chances of Michael Bisping facing Georges St-Pierre appear to have grown slimmer.

The UFC middleweight champion took to his "Believe You Me" podcast this week to reveal he'd recently spoken with president Dana White about an undisclosed offer, and when Bisping inquired as to the status of his ill-fated date with GSP, White claimed the former welterweight champ has his sights set elsewhere.

"Right now, I'm still looking at GSP. I had a conversation with Dana White last week on the phone, he made me an offer - not for a fight - I will not reveal on here what it was but he made me an offer for something," Bisping said, according to FOX Sports' Damon Martin. "I said what about GSP? He said 'GSP does not want to fight.' I said well that's not what I'm hearing. I said I'm hearing he wants to fight me, his coach told me that he wants to fight me.

"He said 'if I could make the GSP fight happen, I'll make it happen but he doesn't want to fight you, I'm telling you.' So I don't know what the (expletive) is going on out there."

St-Pierre was expected to challenge Bisping in his return from a lengthy layoff at some point this year, but White ultimately pulled the plug on the bout in the spring, as injuries have relegated both fighters to the couch until the final quarter of 2017. The Brit's inactivity prompted the brass to book an interim title bout between Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker for UFC 213 - with the winner expected to meet "The Count" in a title unification bout - but neither the matchup nor White's claims kept Bisping from taking one last stab at making the fight with GSP a reality.

"GSP, if you're listening to this, make the call. I'm down. We did the press conference. I'm in 100 percent. Failing that, I will have to fight the No. 1 contender. That is my duty as the champion but we've had the press conference for me versus GSP.

"For me, I'm still invested in that fight and I want to be part of a big fight and then I'll take on the No. 1 contender. But if we don't make this fight soon, I'm going to be forced to move on because that's what I have to do, that's my duty."

White, for one, remains doubtful St-Pierre will meet the Brit halfway, Bisping says.

"Dana said if we can make the GSP fight, we will. In his opinion, GSP doesn't want to fight. He feels he's just (expletive) wasted everybody's time."
