Jones labels Gustafsson a 'dork' in heated Twitter exchange
Warning: Story contains coarse language
Jon Jones has Alexander Gustafsson in his crosshairs.
Some pointed words Gustafsson issued following last week's dominant win over Glover Teixeira reached Jones' ears, prompting the former light heavyweight champion to rub the Swede's nose in his past failures to win the divisional strap.
"The Mauler" gave Jones his toughest test at UFC 165 before challenging Daniel Cormier two years later - falling short on the scorecards both times - and Jones didn't mince words in his assessment of Gustafsson's performances:
I'm not a champion cuz I'm a bad person? 🤔 you're not a champion because you don't win championship fights. 💯

And here's a little FYI, you didn't lose against DC and I because of your cardio, it was because your lack of heart.

Jones took further umbrage with Gustafsson deeming him an unworthy champion - presumably due to his many trials outside the Octagon - although he did take a moment to congratulate his former foe on his engagement.
I'm not a champion because you don't like my personality? Fuck you lol

"Jon Jones is a bad person" you sound like a fucking dork. Congrats on the engagement though, beautiful woman

Of course you are rooting for Daniel Gus, you might as well pray for him while you're at it.

It didn't take long for Gustafsson to respond. The 30-year-old suspected Jones had been indulging in performance enhancing substances at the time of their spirited battle, and while he'd previously chosen Cormier to best Jones in their upcoming rematch at UFC 214, Gustafsson changed his pick hoping he and "Bones" would be able to run it back in the Octagon.
No my friend, against you it was because of the absence of @usantidoping

I root for @dc_mma but I want u to win, and after the way I beat u, I promise I will pray for you. Happy now?

Jones was understandably befuddled by Gustafsson's line of thinking:
Is it me or does this shit make zero sense? https://t.co/LXakpJnB2w
