Look: Cyborg, Anderson face off in effort to convince UFC to book fight

Since their efforts on social media haven't amounted to much, Cris Cyborg and Megan Anderson are going to greater lengths to sway the UFC into booking them to fight.

With reigning women's featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie missing in action, Anderson and Cyborg - widely considered the division's uncrowned queen - have both campaigned for a date in the Octagon later this year, and gave some visuals to the potential matchup in the form of a staredown at the UFC's athlete retreat over the weekend.

Anderson currently owns Invicta FC's featherweight strap - which Cyborg held before making her UFC debut last May - but the world's top fight factory has yet to bring her into the fold despite her proven track record at 145 pounds.

As commendable as her matchmaking efforts may be, Cyborg has bigger fish to fry at the moment. The Brazilian was cited for misdemeanor battery Monday after punching fellow fighter Angela Magana at the retreat in Las Vegas. She could be facing up to 6 months of jail time and a $1,000 fine.
