Report: Silva not interested in Rockhold bout
Luke Rockhold would be more than happy to fight Anderson Silva.
Too bad for him "The Spider" isn't interested.
A prospective battle between two former UFC middleweight champions has apparently been put on ice by the Silva camp, according to a report from ESPN's Brett Okamoto.
Silva's people are quoted as saying that "We're already looking at different options, and Luke Rockhold is not one of them."
The comment came in response to a recent video interview featuring Rockhold in which the 185-pound contender claimed that he had accepted a fight with Silva at either UFC 212 in Rio de Janeiro or on a July 8 card during International Fight Week in Las Vegas:
Silva was already booked to fight at UFC 212 before scheduled opponent Kelvin Gastelum was removed due to testing positive for marijuana. While he and the UFC are looking for a replacement, it appears that Rockhold is not being considered.
