Middleweight Bout: Paulo Borrachinha def. Garreth McLellan via 1st-round TKO

Paulo Borrachinha didn't waste any time in his UFC debut.

The highly touted Brazilian prospect thrilled his fans in Fortaleza with a 77-second TKO win over Garreth McLellan in the opening bout of UFC Fight Night 106.

Borrachinha improved to 9-0 in his professional career, with all of his wins coming by way of knockout or submission.

The 25-year-old fighter got off to a fast start, as he immediately pressed forward and backed McLellan up against the cage. Once there, he relentlessly battered his opponent with punches until a stiff left hook sent "Soldierboy" to the canvas. Borrachinha continued to wallop McLellan until the referee stepped in for the save.

McLellan loses for the third straight time, and has likely taken his last walk to the Octagon after going 1-4 in the UFC.

Featherweight Bout: Jeremy Kennedy def. Rony Jason via unanimous decision

Jeremy Kennedy raised his stock with a calculated, mature performance in enemy territory.

The 24-year-old prospect rode his grappling and kept Rony Jason pinned to the canvas for two of three rounds to win a unanimous decision in front of Jason's home fans. The undefeated "JBC" improved his promotional record to 2-0 and his professional slate to 10-0 with his fourth straight win on points.

After a flying knee sent him to the canvas, Kennedy made it back to his feet, scored a hard-fought takedown, and pummeled Jason with a steady stream of ground-and-pound for the bulk of Round 1, moving ahead on the scorecards heading into the second.

The youngster's lead nearly went up in flames in the middle stanza, as Jason's Jose Aldo-reminiscent double flying knee found its home; only this time, the Brazilian pounced and rained fists on Kennedy in pursuit of a stoppage. The Canadian managed to regain his faculties and kept the damage he absorbed from guard to a minimum by controlling Jason's posture. He still found himself tied at a round apiece heading into the final five minutes.

Kennedy reverted to his wrestling base in Round 3, once again putting Jason on his back and scoring points from top control with more ground-and-pound to complete his sweep of the scorecards.

With a failed drug test converting his 2015 tapout of Damon Jackson to a no-contest, the 32-year-old Jason has now gone winless over nearly three years. The inaugural "TUF: Brazil" winner is now flirting with the chopping block after his third straight loss, which brought his UFC record to 4-4.
