Weidman vs. Mousasi booked for UFC 210 in Buffalo
A pair of top middleweight contenders will throw down when the UFC returns to Buffalo for the first time in 22 years.
Former UFC champion Chris Weidman is set to face No. 5-ranked contender Gegard Mousasi at UFC 210 on Apr. 8 at the KeyBank Center, the promotion announced Thursday.
Mousasi is currently one of the 185-pound division's hottest fighters, having won four straight bouts, including his last three by knockout. "The Dreamcatcher" spent much of 2016 calling for a top five opponent and he gets just that in Weidman, who sits one spot ahead of Mousasi in the UFC's official rankings.
While Weidman is coming off of two straight losses for the first time in his career, he remains among the middleweight elite, having held the UFC title as recently as December 2015. In his last outing at UFC 205, the New York native suffered a third-round knockout loss to Yoel Romero.
