Hunt posts Facebook message asking if Overeem is being tested
Mark Hunt is keeping an eye on Alistair Overeem.
The two veteran heavyweights are set to face off at UFC 209 on March 4, but the booking hit a roadblock when Hunt demanded that the contracts for the bout contain added provisions in the event that either of the fighters fail a drug test.
It's unclear if the parties involved came to an agreement on those provisions, but Hunt eventually signed on for the fight with much reluctance. Regardless of whether Overeem (who has a failed test for elevated testosterone on his record) will face additional sanctions in the event of a drug violation, Hunt made it clear in a Facebook message posted on Wednesday that he's expecting this to be a clean fight:
In his last fight, Hunt lost a unanimous decision to former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar at UFC 200. That result was later overturned to a no-contest when banned substances were discovered in Lesnar's in- and out-of-competition drug tests.
Hunt is currently suing Lesnar, the UFC, and company president Dana White over the circumstances surrounding UFC 200.
