Cro Cop calls Wanderlei Silva 'a scared homie' after injury withdrawal
Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic had some strong words for Wanderlei Silva after hearing that their upcoming bout would be canceled due to a Silva injury.
The former PRIDE heavyweight star wrote a furious Facebook message on Friday in which he explained how the Rizin Fighting Federation informed him of Sliva's withdrawal. Filipovic then lambasted "The Axe Murderer" for being "scared" to fight him.
"He played tough guy on the press conference in July and he called me out for a fight," Filipovic wrote. "Then I said to myself, this man has a guts, but now we all see what is he made of, nothing but s---. Once he was fearless and a true 'Axe Murderer' but now he's just a scared homie and the only thing he can kill is a mosquito.
"And Wanderlei, don't you dare to come to Saitama to see the tournament like a guest because I will slap you like a bitch just like you deserve, you are nothing but a scared bitch and I had so much respect for you as a fighter until now. I suggest a new name for you that will fits you well: Wanderlei 'The Chicken' Silva."
Filipovic and Silva fought twice before in 2002 and 2006, with Cro Cop knocking Silva out with a brutal head kick in the second meeting. They were scheduled for a trilogy bout in the opening round of Rizin's openweight tournament on Dec. 29, but now it's possible that neither man will remain on the card.
