Aspiring fighters take note: Less is not always more.

A referee called a stoppage due to running, in the bizarre culmination of an uneventful welterweight fight at EFC 54 in South Africa on Saturday. Bruno Mukulu oddly chose to engage opponent Henry Fadipe in a game of tag, contently trotting around the cage instead of countering whatever the Nigerian threw his way.

The frustrating tactic had reportedly prompted the official to take a point from Mukulu earlier in the bout, but the fighter would not heed the cue. By the third round, the ref had seen enough of the fruitless chase, ending the fight with over a minute left to grant Fadipe the victory.
