Silva-Chagas takes Fight of the Night, Spicely, Luque cash in at UFC Brasilia
UFC Fight Night 95's post-fight bonuses belong to the undercard.
Erick Silva and Luan Chagas took Fight of the Night honors Saturday following their back-and-forth welterweight affair in Brazil. The pair were pitted against each other on the preliminary card after their respective opponents bowed out due to injury. Silva had his hand raised after submitting Chagas with a rear-naked choke late in the third round.
Little-known Eric Spicely earned a performance bonus for his shocking upset submission victory over middleweight slugger Thiago Santos. "The Dream Catcher" exploited Santos' deficiencies on the ground, trapping "Marreta" in a rear-naked choke in under three minutes.
Also earning some extra scratch was welterweight Vicente Luque, who disposed of Hector Urbina in just 60 seconds with a vicious knockout.
All four fighters will go home $50,000 richer.
