Diaz corrects UFC poster labeling him as a welterweight
Just because Nate Diaz is earning the biggest paydays of his career at welterweight, it doesn't mean he plans to stay there.
The main event of UFC 202 on Aug. 20 will feature a rematch between Diaz and Conor McGregor at 170 pounds. Despite being the UFC featherweight champion, McGregor insisted on replicating the conditions of their first fight so he could properly avenge his loss to Diaz at UFC 196 this past March.
Prior to beating McGregor, Diaz only fought a handful of times at welterweight, which caused him to raise an eyebrow when he saw a promotional poster advertising him as such.
In an Instagram post made Sunday, Diaz reminded whoever made the poster that he's been a lightweight for the majority of his UFC career. In fact, he's currently No. 5 in the UFC's official 155-pound rankings.
"Don't get it twisted," Diaz added in a hashtag.
It sounds like he's eager to get back to his natural weight class once he's through with McGregor.
