Nevada State Athletic Commission approves early weigh-ins

The Nevada Athletic Commission unanimously approved the UFC's proposal for early weigh-ins on Tuesday.
The change, which allows fighters to weigh-in between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. the day before the fight, instead of the traditional late-afternoon weigh-ins, will be implemented for UFC 200.
The UFC tested the new procedure at UFC 199, and it was met with praise from fighters and their teams.
The benefit of early weigh-ins is that fighters have more time to rehydrate before competing.
Nevada has long been viewed as a leader in combat sports, so their approval will likely lead to the adoption of the procedure by other promotions.
