Cruz, Faber exchange juvenile insults at UFC 199 presser
When you've been feuding for as long as Dominick Cruz and Urijah Faber have, the search for new insults can take you to some strange places.
The bantamweight championship co-main event participants were seated with headliners Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping at a UFC 199 press conference Thursday, and they were given free reign to vent their frustrations.
Faber was the first to deviate from the typical bravado, accusing Cruz of "perving out" over the UFC bantamweight title in reference to Cruz saying he couldn't even touch the belt when they were on Wednesday's episode of UFC Tonight.
The phrasing prompted Faber to tell Cruz to "Pick up the belt like a man. Don't be touching the belt, you little weirdo."
Cruz responded by mocking Faber's height. He said Faber was unable to reach the belt due to his having "T-Rex arms," and he promised to bring a soapbox for him to stand on at the weigh-ins.
"He's got an inch and a half on me," Faber replied. "Mr. Stilts over here, very impressive."
Cruz closed out the exchange by making fun of Faber's face, literally: "You and your close eyes."
Amazingly, neither Cruz's bad knees nor Faber's infamous butt chin were used as ammunition.
Cruz and Faber each hold a win over the other, and they settle their nine-year rivalry at UFC 199 on Saturday in Inglewood, Calif.
