Horcher hospitalized after near-fatal motorcycle accident
UFC lightweight Darrell Horcher is currently in the hospital after a frightening motorcycle accident on Wednesday, according to his manager Brian Butler.
Butler told FOX Sports that his client is expected to make a full recovery over the next six to eight months. Fortunately, Horcher was wearing a helmet that prevented what could have been an even worse outcome.
"He's grateful to be alive," said Butler.
According to Butler, Horcher's motorcycle was completely wrecked when it collided with a Jeep that pulled out in front of him. The fighter traveled 240 feet in the air before coming to a skid that left him with a broken arm, torn ligaments in his ankle, and road rash all over his body.
The 28-year-old made his UFC debut in April as a short-notice replacement against Khabib Nurmagomedov. He would lose by TKO in the second round.
