Smith furious at quick stoppage, says Cyborg fight was 'total bull'
The deck was already stacked against Leslie Smith without the help of what she believes was an overzealous referee at UFC 198.
Seeing Smith being pummeled on the mat by Cris Cyborg, official Eduardo Herdy stepped in to waive off the bout just 81 seconds into the first round.
Smith immediately protested the stoppage, and continued to complain on Facebook.
"I'm pissed as hell about the stoppage," Smith wrote. "The fights that were allowed to keep going in the same cage on the same night showed that my fight was total bull."
Smith was the biggest underdog on the card, having to deal with a larger, stronger opponent and a hostile Brazilian crowd. She is looking to fight Cyborg again, though a rematch seems unlikely.
