Evans-Teixeira to be UFC Fight Night main event after Ferguson drops out
Tony Ferguson has pulled out of his FOX UFC Fight Night matchup with Khabib Nurmagomedov on April 16 due to an injury, UFC officials told Damon Martin of FOX Sports on Tuesday.
Ferguson shared some details on his situation in a Tweet posted to his verified Twitter account.
Usually I can Power thru small Bumps & Bruises. Doc Said I have Fluid/Blood in my Lung #UFCTampa I Will Heal Up. I Will be Back.#TeamElCucuy

Nurmagomedov (22-0) hasn't fought since his unanimous decision defeat of Rafael dos Anjos in April 2014, as he's seen multiple events called off due to injury.
Rather than receiving a new opponent on short notice, Nurmagomedov will again reportedly be scheduled for a later fight.
The light heavyweight bout between Rashad Evans and Glover Teixeira has been tabbed as the new main event of the April 16 card in place of the Ferguson-Nurmagomedov matchup.
Evans is looking to rebound from his decision loss to Ryan Bader at UFC 192, while Teixeira enters having earned stoppage wins in each of his last two fights.
