Ball don't lie.
The second leg of the Western Conference semifinals between the Columbus Crew and Montreal Impact was the subject of controversy, as Columbus was awarded a penalty kick in the 67th minute, when Ethan Finlay was brought down inside Montreal's penalty area by Laurent Ciman.
It was a sketchy call at best from referee Armando Villarreal, but Kei Kamara, who didn't take a single penalty throughout the season, stepped up to the spot after talking Federico Higuain out of taking the 12-yard shot, saw his effort thwarted by a diving Evan Bush, restoring justice.
Bush's save preserved Montreal's 3-2 lead on aggregate until Finlay leveled the score some 10 minutes later, forcing extra time.
