Sporting Kansas City books playoff berth at San Jose's expense

Peter Vermes' club got goals either side of the interval from Kevin Ellis and Dom Dwyer - the latter coming courtesy of yet another inch-perfect assist from Benny Feilhaber - and that was enough render Robbie Keane's goal meaningless in a 2-1 win.

The victory saw Sporting KC grab the sixth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference, and leaves San Jose on the outside looking in - just as they were coming into the final day of the campaign.
