The era of Juan Carlos Osorio is officially underway.

On Wednesday, at the Centro de Alto Rendimiento, the rotating door was given another spin as Osorio was officially presented as manager of Mexico's national team.

Osorio's appointment was revealed Saturday, when the Federacion Mexicana de Futbol announced it reached an agreement with the 54-year-old Colombian only five days after he had confirmed his departure from Sao Paulo in order to guide Mexico through its upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifying campaign.

"Mexico is a team that goes on the front foot and looks for results," Osorio said, according to ESPN FC. "With full respect to other nations that asked for us, when the opportunity came with Mexico, we didn't think twice about it."

He went on to say: "I was a Latino immigrant in '80s and '90s when I emigrated to the United States looking for an opportunity. Meeting and sharing job responsibilities with Mexicans; working in construction, restaurants and gardening ... there I recognised that Mexicans, like Colombians, have that great willingness to value sacrifice to improve family life."

There was also a suggestion from Osorio regarding how he'll deploy Mexico, as he said: "The Mexican player is of resistance, technically gifted and trains very well. We like the 4-3-3 a lot with only one central forward."

A number of high-profile names were linked to Mexico, including Marcelo Bielsa, Jurgen Klopp, and Carlo Ancelotti. However, it's likely none of them were interested in a job that has seen continuous change over the past decade-and-a-half, as Osorio will be El Tri's 15th manager since 1999 and seventh since the 2010 World Cup.

Included on Osorio's resume are managerial stints at Millonarios, the Chicago Fire, the New York Red Bulls, Once Caldas, Puebla, Atletico Nacional, and Sao Paulo.
