DC United beats 10-man Whitecaps 2-1

VANCOUVER - Chris Rolfe broke a tie in the 64th minute to help D.C. United beat the 10-man Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1 on Saturday night.
D.C. United (4-1-2) ran its unbeaten streak to five games.
Whitecaps captain Pedro Morales opened the scoring in the second minute, and Bobby Boswell tied it in the ninth.
Vancouver (5-3-1) was reduced to 10 men in the 42nd minute when referee David Gantar showed midfielder Matias Laba a second yellow for clipping the foot of onrushing Fabian Espindola. Laba also was cared for in the 34th minute for a handball.
