Los Angeles Galaxy forward Robbie Keane has been recognized as the best player Major League Soccer had to offer in 2014.
The Irishman, 34, was named MLS MVP on Wednesday, beating out New England midfielder Lee Nguyen and Seattle striker Obafemi Martins in a landslide to capture the award.
Keane, leading the line for the league's best attack, finished the campaign with 19 goals - third behind Bradley Wright-Phillips (27) and Dom Dwyer (22). He added 14 assists, which was also the third-best total this season.
Keane will now look to add more hardware to his mantle, with he and the Galaxy gunning for their third MLS Cup title in the last four years when they meet the New England Revolution in Sunday's final.
