GIF: Edinson Cavani receives bizarre red card after confronting referee

In a moment that will do little to silence his critics, Edinson Cavani was sent off in the second half of Paris Saint-Germain's 3-1 away win over Lens on Friday.

However, it's hard to blame the Uruguayan striker for this one as no one seems to know why referee Nicolas Rainville pulled out a red card.

After converting a penalty in the 55th minute, Cavani busted out his trademark rifle celebration, which normally goes unnoticed by the officials, but saw him receive a yellow card this time around. He then proceeded to tap Rainville's arm out of genuine confusion, and well, that was the end of Cavani's night.
