MLS Game Summary - Columbus at Houston
Houston, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - The Columbus Crew came from two goals down at BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday to claim a point from a 2-2 draw with the Houston Dynamo.
Houston was in front by the 12th minute as A.J. Cochran rose high to meet a corner kick from Brad Davis only to see Aaron Schoenfeld turn the delivery into the back of his own net.
Giles Barnes added to the lead in the 38th minute when he took a through ball from Omar Cummings and chipped a shot over the on-rushing Steve Clark and just inside the far post.
Columbus, however, wasted little time in pulling one back as Wil Trapp cut the deficit in half inside the opening three minutes of the second half, hammering a low rocket just inside the post for his first career MLS goal.
Ethan Finlay then notched the equalizer six minutes later, connecting on a superb cross from Waylon Francis and heading the delivery past Tyler Deric at the back post.
The draw sees Columbus (9-9-10) improve to 37 points to stay level with the Philadelphia Union and one point back of Red Bull New York.
Houston (9-13-5) remains firmly adrift of a playoff spot, climbing to 32 points to stay five points back of the fifth-place Union.
