Union tie Red Bulls 2-2 on stoppage goal
CHESTER, Pa. (AP) Sebastian Le Toux scored on a penalty kick in stoppage time to lift the Philadelphia Union to a 2-2 tie with the New York Red Bulls on Saturday.
In the second extra minute, Ibrahim Sekagya was called for a questionable tackle in the box and Le Toux beat Luis Robles for the score.
Philadelphia (10-9-9) rallied after New York (9-9-10) jumped to a 2-0 lead.
In the 37th minute, Peguy Luyindula was pulled down in the box by Ethan White and converted the penalty kick. Three minutes later, Thierry Henry got the ball from Chris Duvall at the top of the box and his wet shot got past Zac MacMath.
Pedro Ribeiro scored for the Union to make it 2-1 at halftime.
The game was delayed over an hour due to heavy rains and poor field conditions.
