Toronto FC name Greg Vanney as head coach following Ryan Nelsen's firing

Toronto FC general manager Tim Bezbatchenko confirmed Sunday that the organization have relieved coach Ryan Nelsen and his coaching staff of their duties and that assistant GM Greg Vanney will be the team's new head coach.
Bezbatchenko denied claims that the decision was made following Nelsen's criticism of him on Saturday after losing 3-0 to the New England Rvolution.

Instead, Bezbatchenko cited a lack of energy, focus and a failure to commit to a plan as the ultimate reason for his decision to let Nelsen and his coaching staff go with just 10 games remaining.
