De Sciglio scores decisive penalty to lift Juventus past MLS All-Stars
The MLS All-Stars' search for their first win since 2015 will continue following Wednesday's tight loss to Juventus on penalties in front of a record-breaking crowd at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Juventus scored first when Andrea Favilli got on the end of a cross in the box to record his third goal of the preseason 21 minutes into the encounter.
The All-Stars responded five minutes later when hometown star Josef Martinez scored a scrappy goal, sending a majority of the 72,317 in attendance into a frenzy.
After failing to break the deadlock during normal time, the two sides traded goals in a tight penalty shootout that ended with Mattia De Sciglio scoring the winner after Bradley Wright-Phillips struck the post.
Martinez was named the game's MVP, becoming the first Atlanta United player to pick up the award.
The MLS All-Stars have not won a match since beating Tottenham 2-1 in Denver in 2015.
