Chicago lands Raheem Edwards from Montreal using TAM
Raheem Edwards is on his way to Chicago.
The Chicago Fire announced Tuesday they landed the 23-year-old Canadian midfielder from the Montreal Impact in exchange for $400,000 in targeted allocation money.
Edwards appeared in 14 games for Montreal this season, scoring two goals while frequently playing on the right wing.
A product of hometown club Toronto FC's academy, Edwards made 22 combined regular-season appearances with the Reds between 2016 and 2017 but was taken by Los Angeles FC during the 2017 expansion draft. He didn't last long with the new California side, immediately being traded to the Impact along with Jukka Raitala for Laurent Ciman.
Edwards has earned four international caps for Canada. He was named to the country's Gold Cup squad in 2017 but didn't play in the tournament.
