Los Angeles - Chris Wondolowski's milestone goal sealed San Jose's 3-1 victory over Minnesota United on Saturday as the Earthquakes ended a seven-game Major League Soccer winless streak.

Wondolowski came on in the 55th minute and delivered the cross that Danny Hoesen rifled in to give San Jose a 2-1 lead in the 69th minute.

In the 76th, after video review confirmed a Hoesen shot had glanced off the hand of Minnesota defender Francisco Calvo, Wondolowski stepped to the penalty slot and fired a shot inside the left post.

It was Wondolowski's 132nd goal for San Jose -- the most by any player in MLS history for a single team.

With his 136th MLS goal overall, Wondolowski is nine shy of Landon Donovan's all-time league record. Wondolowski scored the first four of his career goals with the Houston Dynamo.

The Earthquakes had opened the scoring in the second minute through Magnus Eriksson's penalty.

Minnesota forward Christian Ramirez answered with a one-touch strike before the half-hour mark and a stream of chances for the Loons followed.

"We were big, big trouble at the end of the first half," San Jose coach Mikael Stahre said.

Minnesota kept pressing to open the second half, but Hoesen's goal knocked them back.

Hoesen scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season, and was full of praise for Wondolowski for making it happen.

"I don't know how he crossed it, but he turned his body and delivered a perfect cross," Hoesen said.

It was first victory for the Earthquakes since their season-opener on March 3.

"It's a difficult one to sort of explain, because I actually thought for 35 minutes of the first half, it's as good as we've played," said Minnesota head coach Adrian Heath.

"But goals change games. And every time we got some momentum in the game, and every time I thought that we were more than likely to go and get the next goal, then we make a bad decision, a poor choice, and it ends up in the back of the net. That's disappointing."
