The MLS Cup-winning Seattle Sounders might have been dealt a severe blow as Jordan Morris suffered a hamstring injury during a 1-1 draw with the LA Galaxy on Sunday night, a source told Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated.

The 22-year-old managed only an hour of the Western Conference tilt before head coach Brian Schmetzer had to replace him, succumbing to his potential injury without contact.

The club reportedly fears he could miss the rest of the regular season, and potentially also the U.S. national team's crucial World Cup qualifying tilts in October.

Morris recently featured for the Americans in a 1-1 draw in World Cup qualifying against Honduras, and played a key role in Bobby Wood's equalizing effort late in the match.

He has three goals and a single assist to his name in the 2017 season despite making 23 appearances, 22 as a starter.
