Atlanta United is putting its expansion draftees to use.
Moments after trading goalkeeper Clint Irwin back to Toronto FC for defender Mark Bloom and general allocation money, the new MLS franchise dealt full-back Donny Toia to Orlando City for a first-round pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.
Atlanta had only acquired Toia from the Montreal Impact hours earlier with the first selection in Tuesday's expansion draft.
Gerardo Martino's side now has the second and eighth-overall picks in the draft, plus GAM to make room for any more potential signings in the offseason.
The 24-year-old defender was left unprotected by the Impact despite making 15 starts during the 2016 campaign.
