Pulisic becomes youngest USMNT player to start World Cup qualifier

Christian Pulisic's star continues to rise. And rise. And rise.

The Borussia Dortmund teenager, already a record-holder in the Bundesliga, etched his name in the American soccer history books Tuesday when he was included in the starting XI for a World Cup qualifier against Trinidad and Tobago.

The midfielder surpassed the previous record held by iconic attacker Landon Donovan, who owned the mark since starting a match against Honduras as an 18-year-old in 2001.

Pulisic, who has inherited the title as the next great American hope on the pitch, is already the youngest USMNT player to find the net in World Cup qualifying, coming on as a substitute and netting a brace in the 6-0 annihilation of St. Vincent and the Grenadines last week.
