CARSON - Steven Gerrard scored the game's only goal and Brian Rowe made four saves to lead the LA Galaxy to a 1-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Friday night.
Gerrard scored from the center of the box in the 66th minute. It was the third goal of the season for the English midfielder, who has three assists in the last four matches.
Houston's Giles Barnes got behind the defense for a chance in the 61st minute, but Rowe came up with the stop to preserve the clean sheet. It was his third consecutive shutout and sixth this season.
The Galaxy have won three straight and are unbeaten in their last five games. Houston, meanwhile, has one win in its last eight matches.
