Fatai Alashe's late goal helps Earthquakes draw with Galaxy
Carson - Fatai Alashe scored late to help the San Jose Earthquakes share the spoils with LA Galaxy on Sunday in a 1-1 draw in the Cali Clasico.
Alashe slashed toward the top of the six-yard box and his header, off Chad Barrett's cross, found the back of the net in the 87th minute.
Los Angeles took the lead just moments earlier when San Jose's Marvell Wynne, attempting to clear a cross from Sebastian Lletget, scored an own goal.
San Jose's Chris Wondolowski, who came in to the match third in MLS with seven goals, came up empty on a pair of scoring chances in the first half.
The Galaxy (5-1-5), who haven't lost since dropping a 1-0 decision to Colorado in March, are unbeaten in their last nine matches. It is longest such streak in MLS this season and the club's longest undefeated streak since going 10 games without a loss in 2014.
The Earthquakes (5-3-4) haven't won in Carson since May 2012.
