Marlins' Adam Conley: Takes loss Wednesday despite quality start

Conley (6-6) fell to the Nationals on Wednesday, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks over six innings while striking out three.

Analysis:

Stephen Strasburg was busy twirling a shutout opposite Conley, so despite his third quality start in his last four outings, the left-hander was headed for a loss once he served up two solo homers in the fifth inning. Conley's early-season struggles still leave him saddled with a 5.02 ERA, but his 3.72 mark since the All-Star break has him firmly back in the Marlins' future rotation plans. The 27-year-old will get a rematch against the Nats on Monday back home in Miami.
