Diamondbacks' Yasmany Tomas: Now dealing with groin strain
Tomas was diagnosed with a mild groin strain Tuesday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Analysis:
Tomas has been out with groin tendinitis since June 6, but his injury has now been reclassified as a mild groin strain after he was forced to exit his rehab game with the Diamondbacks' Rookie-level club with what was initially labeled as general soreness. Tomas was seemingly gearing up for a return shortly after the All-Star break, but it's likely that this latest setback will delay that goal. The Diamondbacks have yet to release a new expected timetable for Tomas' return.
