Coming off a failed stint in the Pacific Northwest, Rickie Weeks will try to revive his career in the desert.
The Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to a minor-league deal with the 33-year-old second baseman on Saturday.
An All-Star in 2011, Weeks hit .250/.343/.431 with 88 home runs and 126 doubles across 660 games from 2010-2014 with the Milwaukee Brewers. He hit 20 or more homers in three of those five seasons, but had trouble staying on the field, reaching the 125-game plateau just twice.
Weeks signed with the Seattle Mariners last winter, but was released in June after slashing .167/.263/.250 with two home runs and 25 strikeouts in 37 games.
The Diamondbacks upgraded the middle infield last month, acquiring Jean Segura from the Brewers.
