Stephen Vogt: Undergoes right elbow surgery Friday
Vogt underwent right elbow surgery Friday but is expected to be ready for Opening Day, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
Analysis:
Vogt apparently started having elbow discomfort when he started throwing after the new year, and the doctors determined that the issue required an arthroscopic procedure after an MRI revealed a bone spur. The 31-year-old backstop was given a 4-6 week recovery timetable and could miss the first week or two of spring training games, but it's promising to know that the front office think's he'll be ready by Opening Day. The situation is worth monitoring in case of any setbacks, however.
