The Washington Nationals agreed to terms on minor-league contracts with outfielder Reed Johnson and left-hander Sean Burnett on Monday.
Johnson was limited to 17 games with the Nationals last season due to foot and oblique injuries. The 38-year-old slashed .234/.265/.340 with two home runs, 16 doubles, and 43 strikeouts in 130 games over the past two seasons.
Burnett missed all of last season following a second Tommy John surgery, and has thrown just 10 1/3 innings in the majors over the past three years. The reliever owns a 3.53 ERA and 274 strikeouts in 372 2/3 innings across eight seasons.
