Marlins-Phillies delayed after dead hawk falls on field
PHILADELPHIA (AP) A game Sunday between the Miami Marlins and Philadelphia Phillies was delayed about a minute when a hawk died and dropped in foul territory along the left field line.
A Phillies spokesperson said the dead hawk was attacked by another bird flying over Citizens Bank Park.
As fans and players noticed the bird fall and lay in the bottom of the fourth inning, the umpiring crew called time briefly and a security guard picked up the hawk and removed it from the field.
